Good luck with it but why go so far away to buy one? I've seen loads in Ireland for sale from 500 euros up and they weren't all wrecks either, I saw some of them with my own eyes and only needed a few bits and pieces doing to them.

    Thats it Lads,
I brought my 9 year old Son, for the experience (He's never done 26hrs straight, just Catnapping when you can - it's Formative).
He had good stories to tell in school on Monday,
e.g. We stopped at Services in Wales, Little Chef or whatever. I was sitting on the wall outside (on the phone), when he noticed a pay and display meter - so went to check did we have to pay..... and returned with twenty four pound coins from the return slot.:D.... Half a tank of juice, that.

@Ali Baba, I looked about here first, cheapest was 1500 yo,yo's, for a 78 rubber bumper, rot box. (if I thought I would get a half decent one for 500, I'd have it).
The sills, strut tops on this were professionally done. New fuel tank, fuel pump, Rad, water pump, coil, leads, Clutch master, Brakes..... (she would be due mot in july, so I guess he was preparing her)....
But the big surprise was... She's been fitted with a gold sean engine 16000 miles on it.
Inside is in great nick, new carpets etc, and everything works.
The only bad bits, she has tin worm along where the chrome strip is along both sides, and on top of rear wings, (doors are new), It looks like someone filled and painted her before, but didn't treat the rust proper, and now is busting out the filler.:(
Chrome is like new on her, Chrome bumper half decent yokes here get about 3500.
Thanks to all for your accolades,
If you see me at a show, introduce yourselves, and we can swop adventure stories.
Will have Zoe at Mondello on Sunday.:)

Great! Nice one. My old man used to have a couple MGBs (not at the same time), I can still remember blasting up the N11 with the top down as a wee lad. I've got a soft spot for 'em.
