Carton house hole 3

    Hi I am going to be playing carton house in a couple of weeks and i was taking a look at the scorecard online and noticed that hole 3 which is a par3 is index 3 alot of threes. Can anyone that has played the course tell me what makes that hole so difficult? I find it strange that a par 3 can be the third hardest hole on the course

    dont worry, knock a 7 iron onto the middle & two putt.

    its prob cos its early in the course and when the ratings were done it was tough.

    During the winter months it can be a dog of hole. Into the wind, ground gets very wet all up the right side. You can find yourself hitting a 4i or hybrid on a given day. Yep, it's a tough hole alright.

    It's a long hole (tee-dependent of course so choose the one that suits) with a well protected green. In other words, it is a difficult hole and they have likely indexed the course according to par for a scratch golfer... Not the best way to index a course but there are different opinions on that... and each has its own merits...
