Out of stocks in Lidl

Anybody know what's happening in Lidl? Was in there today, and they were out of loads of stuff, just a few things that come to mind are their own brand cola, anti wrinkle Q10 day cream and night cream, basmati rice, ground almonds, lots of other cosmetic bits and the confectionery shelves looked quite empty. There were lots of signs up saying that they were out of certain items because of a "supplier problem"?

Maybe it's because plenty of people are choosing to shop in Lidl/Aldi now, as opposed to some of the more 'expensive' supermarkets.

Such are the effects of an economic downturn.

Actually I've noticed that too recently. I get one of my favourite beers (Staroprammen) in Lidl all the time as it's only €1.95 a bottle while most other places charge near €2.70. They used to have stacks of it but over the last couple months they've been out of it lots of times. That said they've had Franziskaner Weissbier on special the last few weeks at €1.50 a bottle so I wasn't overly put out. Still prefer my Staroprammen though!

Actually while we're on the subject i reckon they've got more expensive of late but can't be sure (only thing I bother checking is the price of beer - the rest is immaterial:D).

They get daily deliveries from one of their distribution points - no actual supplier directly supplies a Lidl Shop - so the longest they should b e out of a particular product is a day, unless it's a regional shortage.
