Room to Rent in Lima, Peru

    Hello all.

I lived in Lima in Peru back in 2007. I met a lovely family there from one of the poorer areas of town. They've recently done up their house and would love to have a lodger. I want to help them out finding people because I know my own father had lodgers when he was younger to help pay the bills.

I lived about 100 metres from this family so I know it's safe.

So, if anyone out there would like to live with a lovely Peruvian family let me know. They have 2 teenage daughters and one mid-20s. They live with their mother. It's a perfect place to learn Spanish. The oldest daughter speaks excellent English. They'll happily teach you Spanish (oldest daughter taught me).

There are also a lot of NGOs around so if you want to go volunteering in Peru this is a brilliant opportunity, and as my friends there will sort everything out there'll be no need to pay the fees some volunteering agencies ask for.

I'm still working out with them how much they'll have to charge to pay for keeping someone etc. but it's Peru so it'll be cheap. I'm going to get photos and set up a webpage for them soon.

If anyone knows any college students who would like to improve their Spanish or volunteer over the summer, please let them know.

    Thanks.

Just to give some more information, the charge will be somewhere around 200 Euro a month. So it's a very cheap way to live in Peru/volunteer/learn Spanish.

    I'll have photos soon.

Thanks to both of you! Wonderwall, I've written to them asking for photos. I have some since 2007 but the house has been done up since. I'll get the to you asap.
And thanks darrenh, I have it up on LonelyPlanet and got a few responses. I'll try there too.

I took a bit longer than I'd planned, but it's done! Still waiting for more photos of the actual house, but all the details are online.

It's www.homestayperu.net . Or just PM me if anyone would like any more details.
