The average life of a plasma is 7 years.

Theres no point in thinking about the price you paid for it 5 years ago as that was the price then.

The lowest price I've seen for 42" sets lately is sub €500 so maybe get ready to up date to a hd tv?

Sounds more like bad cabling and interference from some device accross both.

How is it cabled up ? Where have you got the cabling split ? Have you truied another Tv in this area to rule out any interference ?

Post a picture of the IF

that's wrong black briar. panasonic plasmas are to last 20 years average use, anyway who would keep a telly that long? a good plasma should last about 100,000 hours which is around the same as lcd.
