Gas Fire Retailer (who also supplies and fits) - Dublin area

Need to replace a crocked (fireplace insert) gas fire with a new one. It would be easier to have this fitted by the supplier (I don't want a scenario where I get a separate fitter turning up scratching his head telling me I bought the 'wrong one').

Any recommendations on a shop/outlet/supplier who can also organise the fit ?

    Cheers

there is a place in finglas called gas junction who supply and fit as far as i know.
they have a showroom there and we deal with the installers from time to time.

You save nothing by having it fitted by one of these shops ,any rgi installer is capable of supplying and fitting ,most fires.

Get a price on installation off the shop ,then ring a couple of installers. Any fires that shops buy are bought in the same places as we buy them.

I've often picked up cookers in warehouses and installed them for people.

It's not about saving money, I just want to get a new fire fitted with the least amount of fuss. i.e. pick a fire, give them the address and they go off and fit it. The alternative of looking for a fitter and telling him you want model such and such so he can go off looking for it just seems like more hassle.

If you were to direct me to a website that had fires which you could source and fit then that would be easier again and I'd do that.

Focal point fires are the most popular brand.

I'm not insisting that you don't go to a shop ,my post was more aimed at the value end of things.
It's common enough replacing gas fires ,it's not a big job.

I'm all for the value end of things. I had a look at the gas insert fires on that site (focalpoint) and I just wanted to confirm that what your buying is the actual fire insert, not the surround (all fires exampled show a surround of some sort).

Here's a picture of what's there at the moment, you can see that I just want a new fire insert (that will fit). The existing surround can be retained (I hope)

With regards a replacement. I was thinking of something like this

Is this feasable ? Cost effective ? Any suggestions on a fitter ?

Gonna give this one bump before it falls off the page. Any fitters or recommendations (for fitters) out there ?

Rusty, how did you get on with this? Im looking to do the exact same thing.

I dont know why all the sites have the full marble (or whatever) fireplace when all I need replaced is the actual insert itself.

    Anyone advise?
