what is the story with this site? It doesn't seem to require proof of being a strudent?! so you can essentially download this now no problem for ~€60??

Ya it doesn't for some reason...

It's only a student licence though so if Microsoft find you using it for business purposes they will charge you

Yeah, no student verification required for MicroSoft products on software4students.ie.
I got this a few weeks ago, no problems, was delivered next day. :)
This Office 2010 Pro is installable on 2 PCs.

When at checkout stage, select a college (any college) and then checkout.
Requires a proper Irish credit card, those pre-paid ones don't work (i've tried).
    It's a good deal.

oh, btw, there's no difference in price between download & disk, so I ordered disk.

ooooooooooooohhhh! there is no way they can know what you are using it for though?! seems a bit odd that you can get this software for so cheap!

so I can install it on 2 pc's - my sister is a student who uses my pc! simples.

I'll never understand this, If you buy a licence that you do not qualify for its no different to piracy. And thats an expensive way to pirate something.

Its like buying car insurance as a male 18 year old provisional licence holder and telling the insurance company you are a 50 year old woman with 30 years no claims bonus because its cheaper.

true. It is slightly different since the software itself is legit (whereas a download copy is probably cracked) and it's essentially only pirated in the sense that you cannot justify owning the licence.

I can justify buying this for my sister who is a student, putting it on her pc and mine for when she needs it!

I could not justify downloading an illegal copy tho.

And selling millions of users Vista which was a useless piece of buggy insecure junk was an expensive way to rob users.

I reckon it evens itself out in the end.

Thats fine, you have just described a legit use of the licence.

And selling millions of users Vista which was a useless piece of buggy insecure junk was an expensive way to rob users.

Your opinions on Windows Vista are irrelevant to this topic.

Anyway, this is a bargain alert, where the discussion should revolve around how much value is in the OP's tip.

In this case, imo it's a good price for a good piece of software, but if you aren't a student, then you are paying for unlicenced software, which is not a good deal.
