There is supposed to be a tomato plant here, started from seeds - but Im not sure if it ever got going. These two plant have sprung up but I have no idea what they are - is one a tomato plant ?

Nope, not tomatoes. The small one is a daisy I think and the other one looks like Rosebay Willowherb, but it could be something else, not a tomato anyway. You would usually start tomatos in more controlled/warmer conditions like in a greenhouse or a sunny windowledge.

Both weeds. One looks like a daisy the other willow herb. Definitely not tomato.

Buy a few tomato plants and you'll be fine.

For future reference, tomato seeds are best started indoors, mediteranean plants need warmth to germinate, once they are ~15cm high plant them out IF THERE IS NO RISK OF FROST.
