New or Secondhand Sensor?

    Hi all,

Lambda sensor is gone in my car... a pricey enough thing to replace if done new!!

Mechanic has advised it will be roughly €190 from a main toyota dealer, €170 from a motor factors, and possibly only €50 or less secondhand from a scrap yard. Car is a 00 Toyota Yaris.

Could anyone tell me whether its worth my while buying a new one, or am I better off just buying the second hand one and saving the money? I want to look after the car obviously and make sure its in good mechanical condition at all times, so if the new one would be a better option I wouldn't mind paying the bit extra if it was going to save me costs down the line as opposed to having to replace the sensor again/pay money out to fix future issues that may be caused by secondhand sensor?

    Thanks in advance all.
