JED/EDI - Fetac Conversion

I completed the Teachers Dip. in IT a few months back. Somewhere around the end of the course my tutor mentioned that Fetac were in the process of converting the UK qualifications over to a Fetac equivalent. Does anyone have any more info on this? Any info is greatly appreciated! :D
