Hardly any rain now since the big floods last November. Is this what the experts call curtains for us all. How much longer will it before water starts running low? Is this global warning or just good weather?

I had to put out water for the sheep today. The stream has dried up. Any shallow bit of ground has turned orange and the grass is burnt off it. Not good, need rain.

Days are long sunny and breezy, great for evaporation.

I don't like seeing the Liffey so shallow; I fear what might lie at its bottom.

Might have had the odd day here and there but nothing of great quantity. Might get some of the Boards Weather posters to supply me with figures in the morning.

According to Met Eireann it only rains on 150 days of the year on the east coast and 225 on the west. Its not always raining here contrary to popular belief.

OMG 225 days of rain it has never rained that amount here, before the weekend we hadn't got rain since april (which was snow, which closed the road above me, with 3 foot of snow!), i don't know how they survive with that, it must be very depressing!

I had the sprinkler on my earthy lawn last night, the first batch of grass seed failed three weeks ago and my front lawn has little dustdevils if it is too windy.

To OP, the weather is variable. Last summer was a complete washout. So this year we may experience less rain to keep with the yr on yr averages. Pretty simple.

It's not 225 days of solid rain. It's 225 days where there is some rain. It might only be a 30 second shower and it's counted as a day where it rained.

The place would be constantly flooded if there were 225 x 24hrs of rain!

I love the dry weather we have being having lately. It's shocking if we are actually facing water shortages after having a few weeks of weather which is a bit drier than usual. How do other countries manage? Some have a lot less rain than us and they manage just fine.

Picture of Lake over the week somewhere in the Roscommon, the yellow stuff is usually where the water is.
