    It's on the iphone already.

I would say it's a wii/natal(kinetc)/move version of street fighter. Better start working out.

The 3DS just looks like a DS with a thumbstick
    500x_untitled-1_05.jpg

It'll probably just have 3D visuals (for Ultras only?)

Though if they wanna be smart, they could do what Bleach DS/DS 2nd did, and have 1-tap special/Super/Ultra moves.
It works a lot better than it sounds.

wtf a 3ds? never heard of this, its just another DS? ffs how many versions of the same console are they gonna release ? lol I hope it has better hardware.

Anyway nice to see SSF4 on other platforms, they should release a version for the wii IMO (and obviously the PC)

    Yes it's a another DS.

This is why I didn't bother with E3 this year. There hasn't been any good ideas for years.

It's not just another DS, it's gonna have 3D effects that jump off the screen, & the graphical capabilities of the Wii.

I'm having a tough time trying to imagine what this 3D technology is. I presume I'll have to wait until I see a physical display unit in a shop.

There's some more info on it here:
    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/nintendo-3ds-hands-on
Here's the thing about Nintendo 3DS: even if it didn't offer 3D, you'd still want one. It's a new DS with hugely improved graphical performance - eclipsing PSP and getting close to Wii - a beautiful widescreen display, and an excellent analogue controller.

Its 3D screen (and camera), however, elevate it from a must-have games machine to a must-have consumer device of any kind. It's not perfect - there's no doubt that there are more flawless ways to view 3D out there. But it works without glasses, in your hands, in any lighting conditions - and works very well. Its simplicity and immediacy are devastating, and in their way make it more exciting and impressive than any other 3D experience you can have.

My SNES had the graphical capabilities of the Wii. Who cares? Also one of my favourite games ever is robotron, graphics don't mean diddely

3D effects either means it's a gimmick or else it has 3D gameplay, big whoopee, any good development team could have brought that to the regular DS.

    EDIT : See above. It's a gimmick.

How exactly could any good dev team bring the 3D effects to the regular DS when the effects are a combination of the new screen technology and front facing camera at work?

I've read all the specs and I have a rough idea what it is. I understand it'll look almost holographic, not merely polygonal. Wish I'd gone to see Avatar now.

    Not 3D effects, 3D gameplay.

that comment was made before I fully understand what the situation was hence my edit confirming that it's a gimmick.
