Planning in Donegal

I need some advice on planning in Donegal.
I'm thinking of buying an old ruined stone cottage.

It has no power or water/ waste water, sewage removal.

My question is about sewage treatment or septic tank. As far as I'm aware septic tanks are almost impossible to get planning for as legislation was changed last year.

Anyone have anyadvice , info or links related to planning or legislative changes?

As is now the case nationally you will need a site assessment carried out prior to submitting a planning application.Your agent will advise you about this but the Council have an approved list of assessors that can be downloaded from the link here

From my experience less than 10% of applications in the county are getting through with the traditional septic tank system.

    Thanks for the pointers folks.

DCOC are pretty elusive about sending replies to any queries though.
