Canvas re-stretching service

I have canvas painting which I'd like to get re-stretched on regular stretcher bars, but I'm having no luck finding anyone in Dublin who does restretching.

I did go to a re-framing shop in Blackrock but was told that I'd be losing an inch off the painting, something I'd obviously like to avoid.

There are plenty of tutorials online on how to build a frame and re-stretch canvas but I'd rather not have to do it myself coz I know I'd mess it up.

Obviously there isn't much leeway because the painting had been framed before and there's only about 2cm on canvas left to play with so it will be tight and probably needs to be done professionally.

I'd appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction!

The dimensions of the original frame are 90cm x 60cm x 2 cm.

Try Kennedys on Harcourt St. I had a canvas restretched there and they did a great job. Bit pricey but well worth it.

Cheers for that, I'll give them a ring.
