The Lee Swim is an annual swim in Cork every summer and it takes place on 24th July this year. At 2000 meters its a great OW event for all levels and makes an interesting change from sea and lake swimming for swimmers.

I guess I just wanted to post this to bring it to swimmers attention (entries close 9th July or when 300 entries have been reached) but also to give a shout out for volunteers. As with all swims, safety is the primary concern and having adequate safety cover on the river banks is essential to ensuring this. If you think you might be available for a couple of hours on 24th July and you would like to help, could you drop me a pm and I'll send you some details. Thanks.

Yeah I've heard its a great day. Good few lads I know make a weekend of it. Pity I'll be away on Holidays so will miss it again.

As HM said get your entries in early as this does only cater for 300 swimmers and it will take no time to fill...

I'm just bumping this up as we get closer to race day. I've gone from having a vague intention to help steward at this, to being the person actively recruiting volunteers. Because of all the bridges, we need quite a few people to help out. if anyone is in a position to help from about 1:30 to 5:30 on the 24th, then I and the Lee Swim organisers would be very grateful.
