This is a premise for a film project of mine, sett in penal day ireland,
Red coat soldier turns coats after falling in love with the niece of the priest he is hunting,
Now he has to try and out witt the crown forces and the local informers,as he trys to protect the girl and her people

You could make the Redcoat Catholic which would further explain his turning his back on his oath and colleagues.

Mass Rock begins with a crowd of people attending mass out in the middle of hill country,

A teenage girl and boy are on look out posts futher up the hill,

Girl

Sweet mother of jesus i think they are coming?

Boy

How do you know?

Girl

I see the sun glisning on something moveing,

Boy

You are right look there coming this way,

@ that the boy and girl race through the hills to warn the mass goers,

Next we see the leader of the red coats scanning the hills with a telescope,

Not sure if a catholic would be allowed in the red coats back then?

Secretly Catholic while pretending to adhere to the religion of the hell bound.

The best advice I can give you is to research what's required to write scripts. There's a format and rules to learn which aren't needed so much in fiction writing but are crucial to writing scripts.

Use google and you should be able to find some scripts to help you to see the format.

'You are right look there coming this way,' In a script each line needs to be a dinger and not just something to progress the story.

A better line may be something like, 'We need to warn my mother,' Not Oscar winning quality, but works better than your line, imho.

A couple of award winning film makers like the concept of the story,

One of these directors told me i should make the leader of the red coats a real nasty guy, before he turned coats,
