Do you need a license or permission of some variety to hold an event like that?

    Have I got this right?

You wish to open up an Airsoft site that will only be open on certain dates. These dates will be for massive events, spreading over a number of days/nights in Ireland.

    Where would this be based?

it would be based in limerick hopefully close to the city
so is anyone interested in playing

wow a skirmish for a few hundred:D i would definitely travel for that.
One problem with the over 3 or 4 days might be people trying to get off work so maybe hold it on a bank holiday weekend or some other public holiday.
What sort of terrain would it be?

woodland terrain with a few trees and large bushes you can hide in there will also be rentals availavle if i can get it up and running

sounds good, how much would be planning on changing? You have probably thought of everything but will there be somewhere for us to charge our batteries?

a few hundred?that would be great.
but would that many turn up??most i played was 80-100(1 day game)
it would have to be very well planed,id love to play a 2 dayer
but 3 or 4 days is a no no for me.
i heard from some that went to senny that they were in bits after
2 days,i think 2 days would be better to aim for imo.
plus it would keep the cost down, most of us cant really
    afford 4 days(time or money/time is money:))
but i really would like to see a game this big happen
    over here.
by the bye anyone know in total, how many were at
    the stenny gig?

yes there will hopefully be a place to charge your batteries and I would be charging between 50 and 100 euro but hopefully closer to the 50 mark . The thing about the money is you can pay to stay for all 3-4 days or can pay per day which would include 4-5 games there will be a 8 hour break till the next game in the night where you can rest and charge your batteries and the guns batteries too .

Im interested but if I personally was to set up something of this scale I would would be looking somewhere along the lines of milsim as opposed to a giant skirmish.
Otherwise things would get messy and people would have no Idea what theyre supposed to do.
Also scenarios incourage people to get involved.
I think people would get annoyed if theyre just supposed to eliminate the enemy for days.
Im not saying make it a hardcore milsim with limited ammo and stuff if you dislike that sort of game.
But a "big skirmish" I wouldnt go to.

Would definitely be interested if it was milsim as I'm very keen to try this out.
    Limerick needs more sites :)

Dont mean to be rude but do you have any experience yourself?

GTAC ran gatherings, but they had months behind the for the first one of around 100. Starting a small site is a big job, organising something like Berget(which is what you're close too at a few hundred) is a massive job.

And as for milsim, double the work and half the participation.

ya i do have experience i ran a small site where a few of my friends and their buds would go and play but stoppped when the guy sold the land and we werent allowed on it anymore

No offence, but if you were to do this properly, I would try get in contact with one of the Bigger sites/Operators aswell, just so you can make this event Great, instead of just good.

But, for yourself, I would say you should prob have it open for normal skirmishes aswell. I wouldn't have thought it to be very worthwhile ot open for just a few days a year.

    But I could be wrong

the thing is it will never be the same site because ive noticed that when playing the same site over and over again it gets a bit boring so every large game will be in a diff site to give variation

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 499 ✭✭Beez

How do you have access to so much land to be able to do this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 77 ✭✭cathal2

well its easy just get in contact witha farmer and ask him can u use his land and you promise him a large percentage of the profit
