I voted negative, but it was for you.

For anybody who doesn't waste their time reading the "Speek you're branes" nonsense that gets posted beneath polls on the Irish Times website, eddie- the Aggravator is just someone who posts extreme-right-wing opinions on every single topic. He always begins with "AFFIRMATIVE" or "NEGATIVE" and signs off with "HOO RAH!"

As his comments are almost always among the first posted, I would be inclined to believe that he's probably just an Irish Times employee, trying (and usually failing) to provoke debate.

Watch the irony here, there's a lot of it so don't slip on it.

I didn't know who "eddie- the Aggravator" was until I went and checked. He probably needs to spend more time outside kicking a football and less time posting opinions that no-one particularly cares about. I rather suspect he'd be very happy to see a short internet thread dedicated to him but as for his opinions, good luck to him, it's nice to have an opinion.

The oft-quoted phrase of "opinions are like a**holes... " comes to mind:p

He really is quite the annoying git now, how he manages to be in the first 5 of every poll is quite amazing though, if that sort of thing amazes you, a life must be sorely lacking there though i think

He waxes lyrical using big words to get across in 300 words what he could have said in 3 lines. Looks good from afar, but when you get down to the nitty gritty of it he's often off point and appears bitter.

Most other posters on the polls ignore what he has to say, while having a crack off each other.

He only ever posts once, and posts early so it would appear he's just an irish times hack

I disagree with almost every thing he posts, but by God do I admire his tenacity. Every bloody topic there is, he's one of the first to comment.
He certainly does aggrevate some people by the sounds of it.

NEGATIVE. ALLOWING HIM TO SPOUT OFF IS DESTRUCTIVE TO THE POLLS. However on occasion I agree with him (rarely). My question is how come I am never published on the IT site? I am not a regular contributer like Eddie, but I do feel left out when I don't get published. But then I guess that is down to the inefficiency of the IT regulator (moderator) in deciding who gets to spout off and who doesn't. The Answer? If you want to have a proper moderators get professional moderators to administer the site instead of pompous, sanctimonious news editors who would be hard pressed to run a Bingo hall. HOO RAH!

    Oh no you don't.

Some years ago, whilst he was on one of his er, top secret missions. Someone else filled in for him, for 2 weeks. And nobody knew the difference.

    :D

Ah, the poll is closed. I love reading his comments and have always considered him a national treasure.

He should publish a book of all of his responses to Irish Times polls.

I am thinking of a similar one from boards.ie (Though I am afraid it wouldn't sell) I am sure his would.

He's no Myles. Not even a Paul Howard. But he thinks he is.
