    Hey,

Recently when I place a link to my blog site into my status on facebook it will only show the link and title of the site.

Previously it showed the content in the latest post and would allow me choose what thumbnail pic to show.

I've searched everywhere for a solution. facebook gives html text to place in my site under 'Head' however I cannot get this working for some reason.

i just cant understand why it worked before and now suddenly does not.

Any help appreciated. My site is: http://www.surfaroundireland.com

Usually Facebook will give you the image choice option and will show the meta description from the <head> of the page. If it can't find that it defaults back to the site description or that from Dmoz. Is there any box in your blog app that allows you put a description and key words in as you post?

What I have found that sometimes when you post a link on FB you just get the link appearing rather blandly as text with no image (and rather uninviting for anybody to click on). I assume that this is what's happening to you. This seems to be some sort of random fault with Facebook (I'm guessing that it is something to do with FB being unable to retreive the info at that time). What I find works is to cancel the post and try again and again. It can work after a couple of times. Or sometimes you need to refresh the page and try again.

Ok, for your homepage I get:

    Surf Trips Along Ireland's Coastline
    http://www.surfaroundireland.com/
    Post description

    1 of 3 Choose a thumbnail

Might be very worth while editing the description of that page certainly.

For one of your posts I get:

Surf Trips Along Ireland's Coastline: Sipping Jetstreams
    http://www.surfaroundireland.com/2010/06...
    Post description

    1 of 2Choose a thumbnail

Same Post description thing. I am not familiar with Blogger, but is there any plugins you can add for SEO? SEO Ultimate is fantastic on Wordpress. Lets you edit the META description of every post as you post it.

Cheers for the feedback. I still havn't fixed it yet but the feedback has moved me in different directions trying to find a solution.

I'm totally new to creating web/blog sites so its a total learning process and I'm sort of learning everything as I go along.

I've tried a lot of different thing like adding meta tags to the head of my HTMl and to my posts but I'm just not getting it. but I will perserver!

A lot of other people out there have the same problem from reading other forums but there is no simple solution yet! I guess someone who is savy with creating websites would fix it in a second.

I dont fancy spending money on it just yet so i'll try everything I can myself first!
