Background first is I recently got my provisonal license back after 2 year ban. it's still my first provisional. It's out of date now though.

I want to go for my full license, do I have to get my provisional renewed first? how do I go about doing that

You need a valid license the day of your test, so yes, you will need to get a new one.

Just get a form for Renewal of provisional Licence from the tax / garda office and send it to the address on the form with your fee, 2 photos and your old license

Sound man. I'll do that. Car sitting outside me driveway last month and haven't got around to sorting this!

Just make sure you do it and get it out of the way, don't put it off like I did.

Oh, and good luck with your test
