New website - what do you think?

    Hi everyone,
My new skincare website, bodzilla.ie http://www.bodzilla.ie/ is nearly finished. Given that I've received so much help through this forum, I'd like to know what people think of it before it's handed over to me. I've used Realex for payments and I think the site is well-designed, trustworthy and secure - but I've been looking at it for so long at this stage that I could be missing something glaringly obvious.

Thanks again to everyone here who has given me advice along the way.

Hi I took a look at your new website there and it's very impressive! Very well designed and good products, I'm not a web expert or anything but it looks fine to me - well done and best of luck with it :)

Saw this thread on the boards homepage and thought i'll have a look.

Seems to be very easy to use.

I like that your delivery charges are set out clearly and so is your returns policy. And it was very easy to find them too being in different colours along the side along with newsletter and contact us. It good that you mention how long it can take to deliver too.

Contact form is simple to use.

    I like it.

Nice looking site. Probably worth putting a similar post on the web design forum if you want the thoughts of web/graphic design people on it.

Best of luck with the venture.

There are quite a few design improvements which could be made. Post in Web Design as it's more appropriate there.

Decent site. Couple of minor changes I'd make are removing the first "bodzilla.ie" from the title, I'd also consider removing the ".ie" from the logo, and maybe make a bid on bodzilla.com domain (it's probably for sale). I might look to make the banner shorter (ie take up less vertical room) on internal page.

    HTH.

    Thanks everyone for the feedback.
Trojan, I agree with what you said about removing the first bodzilla.ie from the page title. I can't do this, though, until the site is finished and the ftp is handed over. As for buying bodzilla.com, I contacted the owner a few months ago and was quoted a ridiculous amount of money, so I'll have to make do with bodzilla.ie and bodzilla.co.uk ;)

Very nice. And looks very user firendly. Good luck!

P.S. Do women really pay €89 for eyebrow conditioner? :)

I think its a great looking site.

I also agree that the dot IE should be removed.

How did you get a merchant account allowing you to use realex straight away or have you been trading for a few months?

Best of luck with the venture.

Nice site, I'm glad that you've understood the need to have a professional looking website. For a start up, It really helps your credibility. For me, any company with a crappy website will have service to match. If you can't put some effort into a website (especially if this is your only sales channel) if shows a serious lack of attention to detail.

I also like the name as well. I would get bodzilla.com if you can (but I see someone has it). Good luck with it.

    looks great, really really professional.

How much ball park does a site like that cost?

I know thats a bit cheeky:p but e commerce is something ive looked into in the past and never really got a firm idea of the costs from people.

Thanks everyone. It is a pity that I can't get the .com version but so it goes.

fishy21, I've had Realex and Elavon on board since the site was in test mode. I applied late last year for both, well in advance of the site going live. Once I got approval from Realex, I was given access to a test system for evaluation purposes. This allowed me to put through test orders to ensure everything was working ok. I got approval from Elavon months ago but they let me put everything on hold until the site was live and ready to accept 'real' transactions. Hope that answers your question;)

I would have the 'BLOG ' page - opening in a new window .

Because , when you are on the blog page , there does not appear to be a link to take you back to your homepage .

You don't want people leaving your website -

Overall I think its a very good site, easy to navigate and well designed.

Im a little confused by one aspect the checkout process though.

Once you put items in the shopping cart, enter deliver details and then you enter your credit card number but after this step there is a page for you to confirm your order. I think this is a little confusing. I would confirm your order before you allow them to enter their credit card details. This should be the very last step. Conventionally this is how most ecommerce sites do it.

Other than that best of luck with it.

Overall the site looks very nice indeed.

I would like to see more photographs for the products on sale, and also when I clicked to see a full size version of a picture of one of the products (Bio-Oil Scar & Stretch Mark Treatment - Medium 125ml), the pic that pops up is stretche...not great for an anti-stretch mark treatment! (sorry :o ) . So yeah, higher res photos will make the products look a lot more attractive, and maybe some photos of the product itself rather than just the box.

I'm not a big fan of the logo, I think it lets down the name which is quite strong. Your logo should reinforce the name and be very attractive in its own right. At the moment it looks a bit like a rip off of the entertainment.ie logo.

    Best of luck

    Hi Ugg

I really like your website. Like Cianos though, I wasn't a big fan of the banner/logo. there's just something a bit "sleazy"(possibly the wrong word) about that purple.

When I think of bathroom toiletries and self-hygiene, light colours are what I associate with. Maybe a light pink or a cream or just white would be better?
That purple makes me think of Simon Cowell for some reason!

Tbh, when I looked at your site first, my first impression was that it was probably a VideoGame or music site , and I think that's cause of the colour.

Anyway, I really like everything else about the site. Mind me asking if you created it yourself? Please PM me if you can't give details publicly
