Just noticed Aldi are selling Tevion world band digital radios for 19.99.
Fonthill branch seem to have 4 or 5 left, before I buy though, could someone please confirm these are digital radios (as in DAB) or is it a digital display?

If they are genuine digital radios, good bargain in my eyes!
The flyer I have says world band digital radio , tune into hundreds of new programmes, bit confusing to be honest!

If it's a standard radio, with the digital part being the display, I'll let it go, need a new radio for the kitchen, but as dab is the futureid want to ensure this is it!

Hi OP, this would not be a DAB radio, but a regular FM/MW/LW/SW radio.
It's called Digital as the Tuner is more precise than some of the cheaper radios.
I have one in front of me that i bought in Teneriffe about 5 years ago and still works perfect, no DAB though!!

I have two DAB radios, total joke.

Only RTE broadcast in DAB - today fm, newstalk and phantom used to but dont anymore.

The 'digital' refers to the digital PLL tuner AFAIK.

Bought on of these before and it's pure sh1te TBH. Certainly not worth €20

EDIT: Lidl have similar for €8.99 from Thursday. Probably still not worth it......

I agree. I was seriously pissed off after powering up my DAB radio for the first time last year only to find RTE stations only. At the time the www.digitalradio.ie/ website had the logos of many of the major radio stations in the country on the frontpage (and still has)

Besides the reception isnt the best. If the dog farts near the radio the sound goes mental.

Thanks guys, minds made up so....

Prob go for a wifi radio instead, be able to listen to triple J (sydneys finest rock station!)

    Sorry Aldi, not this time!

If ya still want a DAB radio - spotted a reduction in Tesco (Tramore) this evening - their own-brand Technika one - €24.64 - has 10 DAB, 10 FM and an iPod dock.
    Kinda clunky style.
(Ticket says was €59 then €29)
