    so is it true you need 2.5 gpa to pass second year computer science?

    Not that I know of. I completed the Computing degree and my GPA was certainly nowhere near 2.5 in second year. I think the following (that was posted in another thread here) applies:

    * Pass is 2.0 - 2.49
    * 2:2 is 2.5 - 2.99
    * 2:1 is 3.0 - 3.24
    * 1:1 is 3.25 & up
