I posted this link one time before but what the heck, Sive is on again this weekend - it's a great video and perfectly captures life "in the pack" at a tri.

A great advertisement for Triathlon and Sport For All

... just wish the run wasn't such a beast ;)

Anyone out there travelling down from Dublin to the Sive Tri this weekend? I need a small piece of equipment brought down for the race organisers, it's not large (will fit in a carboard box), but is rather important for the race....

FYI - I left for Cork yesterday without it and don't want to have to drive all the way back up to Dublin just to pick it up...

Please PM me if you can help...

Doing the run as part of a relay team. Is the run that bad? Know the streets running inland are pretty steep alright, but surely it doesn't go up the hill behind the town? That's gotta be 300m plus.

The run is very steep, but only for about 1km, it begins alright going through the town so you have a bit of time to acclimatise before heading uphill. By 1.5km it levels out a bit and is not too severe. The main problem I find with hilly runs is not heading up but coming down.....

Yeah, steep enough heading out alright, and flying coming in - think I went over on the ankle slightly. Was part of a team, don't envy anyone who had to face that after doing the other two legs.

No, I didn't envy myself having to climb that mountain after the other 2 legs either.

If it weren't for the pain while doing it, I'd have loved it, though. :p

BUT, I thought the cycle leg was dangerous coming down that steep long hill against all that oncoming traffic, I have to say.

Great tri again this year. Well organised. Missed the toilets outside though this year at the marina. Was a great advantage last year. New cycle route was great, loved coming down, thankfully no one crashed as it would have been disasterous.... Pity the t shirts were the same as last year. But great triathlon. Well done.

yeah, a great day out. My swimming is getting worse but I knocked 90 seconds off the run this year so happy days. Really liked that bike course - great surface and some decent climbing. I'm a bit of a wuss on the descents so lost a few seconds there but otherwise great. It was also definitely a help to have done the run up that hill last year.

I bumped into TFBubendorfer (literally) as we treaded water before the off - hope ya got what ya wanted from the race Thomas :)

Superb organisation for a charity/volunteer/local club-based event. A real community effort with lots of volunteers all of whom seemed to know what they were doing.

They really got the town out in support too - plenty of spectators/cheering and great stewarding of junctions/closed roads etc.

    Happy days:p
