Came across this new app yesterday and was impressed enough to think it's worth a thread... its a free turn-by-turn satnav app, based on free "editable-by-anyone" maps - they call themselves the Wikipedia of maps.

Tested it out around Cork city yesterday and worked very nicely. It recognised my home address and took me home via the same route I would have chosen myself. It made a few wee mistakes (like telling me to take a right turn where turning right was forbidden) but in such cases you can file a bug, or even fix it yourself. Thought it was pretty good for something that costs nothing anyway.

There's also a lite/free edition, which is the one I tried. No idea what else you get in the €1.59 version. Anyway even that price is peanuts compared to what the big-name apps cost.
