Was on a long spin in my merc c220 cdi the weekend. The car is the 210 model and is 00. It has 150 bhp so should have loads of poke. However from time to time it seems to hit a flat spot !! Maybe when doing fifty and trying to move it upwards it sometimes doesn't go as fast as it should. When driving from Dublin last weekend I put the shoe down and found it hard to get the car to go above 85 mph. Now I am not a fast driver in general but am wondering what may be causing this problem.:rolleyes:

could be a number of things, faulty air mass sensor, faulty inlet manifod port shut-off valves, vacuam leak, boost leak (pipes or intercooler),blocked exhaust, fuel filter or high pressure pump. Its a long list and it can get longer, best to get the fault codes checked and go from there.

Ha you got there just before me .
I was going to post the very same thing

Go get it set up and see if any fault codes come up
    That would be a start

But top speed should be more than 85

Top speed is too darned fast for Classic cars, this forum chugs along at its own pace.
