Has anyone been to Alton towers? How would it suit 2 adults for a bit of fun? Would 2 nights be enough time?

how old we talking here?? i am 33 and love theme parks, alton towers has 3 or 4 great white-knuckle rides that match up with almost anything in florida

one day is enough though, alton towers is in the middle of nowhere, miles of country backroad to get to.

what about blackpool instead, thats got an equally good themepark, great nightlife and a beach if the weathers good

FWIW I much prefer Blackpool to Alton Towers which really is in the middle of nowhere.

Blackpool? Really? I always saw it as an older sort of place. I'll have a look. Thanks.

Im almost 30 and loved alton towers last september. Will defo go again. Went to blackpool when i was 6 so dont remember it much.

you would need 2 days unless you invest in a fast pass, you need a fast pass if you go for 1 day.

Went to disney in florida and went to universal studios in paris, alton towers was way better.

Blackpool is great, the park has about 4 rollercoasters. Went 3 years in a row as it was so cheap to get to but unfortunately Ryanair no longer fly there :(

One day should be enough there but definately get the fast passes. try and go mid week also, not as busy as the weekends. Ive been so many times and never tire of the place! im mid twenties btw
Ive heard there are some really nice b&bs in the area but as said before its really in the middle of nowhere. I know we stayed in Stoke on Trent before which isnt too far away and a nice town for a bit of shopping etc.. but its not that far from Manchester or Liverpool either..last few times Ive gone its been from Liverpool.

there is one ride close to the entrance near Storybook Land. its looks like a real kiddies area but the ride is great craic. Think its called pinball or Spinball. we went on it just before we left the park once..really was a lets try this before we get chucked out moment..and we loved it! you get thrown all over the place! not as good as Air and Nemesis obviously but still good fun and never much of a queue! I always have a good on it anytime been back since!

and there is the new one Thirteen...cant wait to go back and try this one out!

    Folks,

Just wondering what would be the best mode of transport from Manchester to Alto Towers i.e train or bus

I hired a car from birmingham £26.00 for 3 days vw polo.

If you get the train you have to get a bus from alton train station to alton towers.

There might be a special alton towers bus from manchester there is from birmingham/west midlands but you have to go by there timetable leave at 6pm on the button.
