Unless you want to pay the best and easiest way is to dump them all into itunes and use their built in duplicate finder and an applescript and then delete all the duplicate tracks and delete from source and your done.

You can actually set iTunes to not sort your library.

ya but it still adds to the hard drive unnecessarily? i want to keep the hd as clean as possible and to honest i use ableton for djing so if there's any program for my media needs it is ableton,

i just dont like the whole itunes concept

    Ok, fine.

Go through your duplicates at your next set - then use itunes, or you could skip the first step and just use itunes.

"Tidy up" or "Duper" should work for ya if you aren't using itunes and actually work on ANY dupe files.

idupe is the one for those who are using Itunes
as itunes will SHOW duplicates but not remove them.

My last scan had over 1200 duplicates, thats alot of manual removing !

BTW I use Ableton and Traktor, and itunes together just fine, just disable import to library on load and specify the itunes folder, only additional file is the xml playlist ... each to their own though.

Personally I like being able to drag and drop direct into Ableton from itunes.
