Sky Box Through UPC Internet Router?

    Hi guys,

I'm looking for a bit of help regarding Sky TV's apparent need for a telephone line.

In our home, we have a Sky multi-room setup, which feeds into the telephone line. Our phone and broadband are with Smart Telecom, which are provided through the same line. Recently, we've become very unhappy with our broadband service, and wish to move over to UPC for both phone and broadband. However, they feed their signal through the NTL coax boxes, and not the phone line.

What I'm wondering is, before cancelling our contract with Smart (which will render our old copper-wire phone lines dead) and making the move to UPC, will we still be able to receive our Sky signal if the connection from the Sky box is moved from the phone socket to the new UPC router?

I'm also aware that UPC do Digital TV deals, but we've only recently installed the Sky service and are still under contract.

Any help would be greatly appreciated guys, thanks.

The phone output from the UPC router will work with a Sky box. It can also be fed through your house phone lines once disconnected from the exchange line.
