Have a Sky plus box and an ordinary sky box at the moment.

I was going to put a box in another room as use it as a free to air box so I can watch ITV/BBC etc. Any way I can do this? When I take out the viewing card, it doesnt give me access to the "other channels".

I think you put it in upside down or something.

Two possible ways for the ordinary Sky box. Take out card then plug out sky box. Plug it back in and now the UK EPG should be there with BBC1 at channel 101 etc.

Or go to Sky News (with card in box) press the red button and wait till the various screens appear. Now remove card and then press the back up button on the Sky remote. Once again the UK EPG should appear.

And should this continue to work then with no viewing card in it with the UK EPG?

Edit - Just tried, worked a treat! Excellent :)

Pull the power lead from the box or turn off socket at the wall, then remove the card, after 30 seconds approx. turn on the power again, allow the box to "boot up".

Now press Tv Guide and select all channels. BBC1 London should be the first channel in the line up, if it is then you are ok.

Now go to services, favourite channels and store all the best FTA channels in favourites.

Now, anytime you want to see whats on just press TV guide followed by the blue button and then all your favourites will be displayed.

All the ITV channels etc will be visible in the normal program guide and you won't have to go to other channels to view them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
