Hi, Can anybody recommend travel insurance that will refund accommodation/flights due to cancellation? (I got caught in the volcanic ash chaos without such).

I think it generally depends on why the holiday is canceled. Not many insurance co's covered the volcanic ash for example but if it's canceled as you're ill it may be covered. Each policy is different - if it's cheap, it's probably because there are more exclusions & higher excesses. Afraid you just have to read the small print...

Some of the travel insurance companies have added it as an option.

Accident and General definitely have for single trip policies

    Wording
"Travel Abandonment due to delay in excess of 24hrs of your flight due to natural disaster .Natural disaster is defined as Volcanic eruption/ash cloud, earthquake, tsunami, sandstorm or forest fires"

Its about 12 euro extra for European Trips
