Hi, just came across a job opportunity there from Paws Animal Rescue aimed at students for the summer. I researched the job but they haven't mentioned what the job involves. Does anyone work here, know anybody that works here or know anything about the kind of work that would be involved.

    Thanks

Saw two of them today, one on henry street and one in college green with tables, with reflect jackets (not looking too happy) trying to sell little keyrings and other things.

ANY job that doesnt tell you anything about it beware, I have had 3 people ringing me for an interview in relation to these jobs. Upon questioning I always get the reply it will take awhilt to explain, please come to the interview etc etc :pac:

Although its a great charity to do this job is what the other posters said ie with a little stand selling keyrings and other little things or going round the streets, shops and or pubs and trying to sell dont think there is a basis as these type of jobs are usually commission based
best of luck if you do decide to do it

Great charity who I love to support. Could not do the work though regardless of how much I love animals!

To be fair, this method of fund raising although tedious and possibly boring for the person behind the stand is a nicer method of fund raising compared to the in your face concern fund raisers, strategically placed so you cant avoid them.

Id give it a go to be honest

Went to an interview for these guys but didn't end up taking the job as it would mean moving to Cork.

Seems like a very worthwhile charity but the work is commission based so you could end up working your ass off for long hours and earning very little.

The work involves selling little toy keychain animals and to be fair the workers don't go off on big rants and try and keep you for ages like the concern workers do.

I did that sort of work very briefly last summer. After 3 hours in the blistering sun, harrassing strangers on the street, I'd only made enough to cover my bus fare & a bottle of water :P

Obviously, not the sort of work I'm good at! But it was soul destroying too.
