Just bought a 3HP 200 litre air compressor with all the toys.
Also got a 30 tonne press.

Now I have these essentials (from memory): -
    6 tonne trolly jack
    6 tonne stands
3/8 and 1/2 Draper Torque wrenches (btw saw an add for aldi or lidl doing torque wrenches for c. 30 eur)
Teng tools 3/8 and 1/2 socket sets
    breaker bar
    angle grinder and protective wear
    24v cordless drill
    Stanley ring spanner set
    lump hammer and crow bar
Foam ground mats for lying under car
vice grips, pipe wrench, chain wrench
lithium grease, copper grease - grease gun
    bench vice, G clamps
    pliers etc
    chocks
dial gauge, slip gauge, vernier calipers
    multimeter

... welder is next I think.

Lose the lump hammer and get a couple of differant size ball pein hammers, much more useful around cars, lump hammers are just too unbalanced and ignorant, leave them to the brickies:D

I have slightly crappier versions of all of the above. :D
My favorite tool however isnt actually a car tool at all, though it does lots of car jobs better than designed for tools:

    Rothenberger Water Pump Pliers

    Pricey but good.

    Thanks for the tip.

I use the lump for whacking balljoint splitters (forgot to list) into place when I'm splitting for replacing.
I understand that an air hammer is perfect for splitting ball joints.

Something else I forgot to mention was a set of spring compressors.
