    Hi all,

Just a quick query, are flat rate expenses tax relief just for public sector workers? For example, with Engineers, is it only engineers employed by County Councils, Iarnroid Eireann etc???

    Thanks

Flat rate expenses are not just for civil servants. Depending on your occupation you maybe able to claim this relief. AFAIK you just ring up your local tax office tell them what line of work you are in and they will add this on to your certificate of tax credits for the year. You may also be able to claim for the previous four years if you were working in the same line.
