i made two little 6x4 cross stitches for two friends, and am currently trying to frame them and having such trouble!

i framed two others a few months ago and it went fine, i ran the iron over them, and then padded them out with some tissue paper behind the fabric in the frame.. but for some reason this time i cant the creases out of the pieces and trying to keep them taut in the frames is a real pain!
    any trick to it?

Cross stitch should not need extensive blocking, but if it does, place face down on a softish surface, like a teatowl folded on an ironing board. Slide pins (not the ones with glass or plastic heads) at an angle - heads outwards - into the padding to hold the fabric square. Place a piece of damp cotton cloth over the embroidery then bring your iron down onto the damp cloth, just press gently, you are just making the steam go into the embroidery. Don't rub it, just press. Remove the damp cloth and leave the embroidery to dry.

Cut a piece of stiff card to fit the frame, place the card on the back of the embroidery - make sure the picture is straight - then use a needle and thread to lace the sides then the top and bottom together, this will hold your picture flat.

I can't find a good picture of blocking, but this is a how-to on mounting your embroidery http://www.3dframing.co.uk/crossstitch_howto.html
