Gentlemen - I posted this earlier in response to another thread on this site about making your own ammunition - Mods, please feel free to remove it as unnecessary if you feel that this 1/4 furriner has got a bl**dy cheek to come on this website and pontificate.

'To whom it may concern - I've been reading this thread with growing dread. Please feel free to futz around with ammunition in the safety of your own home - in fact, do whatever you care to. I personally don't give a rat's fundament if you blow yourself up, and end up picking your nose with your elbow, wiping your ar*e by remote control or simply having a weekly visit from a nurse with the pointy tweezers used to get sharp metal fragments out of where your your eyeballs used to be, for the rest of your life.

Remember that whereas there are some pretty good rubber hands that do many things these days - picking your nose, wiping your a*se and so on, they have yet to perfect the working rubber eyeball.

Please, don't let's anybody on this forum give the antis anything more to b*tch about as far as we shooters are concerned by discussing illegal reloading.

Right NOW, reloading in the RoI is forbidden by law, whether you like the law or not, and all this talking about wink-wink-nudge-nudge style reloading is not doing any of you any good.

It will happen or it won't. At least you can still buy ammunition.

Here in mainland UK we lost a lot more than the right to reload - we lost an entire range of sports, world-wide competition at any and all levels, businesses worth many millions of £££££, and our entire collections of ancient and modern handguns that fire cartridges. Sure, we bitch about it from time to time, and vow to take it out on the politicians with our votes, but you will not see posts on UK fora about the illegal acquisition and use of handguns by otherwise law-abiding citizens.

There is simply too much to lose - even the little we have left - and way too many people whose sole purpose in getting up in the morning is to see that we DO lose it all.

    Softly, gentlemen, please.

The OP is new to boards 18 posts.

If handloading comes some may avail of it, some will not.

it will be a min of 2 years before a decesion is made IMHO.

A lot can happen in that time.

If we have an election here all the system could change!
    Or stay the same
or worse stay n limbo for longer

All we can do is wait and see.

I personally have never loaded, I have seen videos on it on the net.

It is not really for the average joe shooter anyway, more for the more experieneced one as laziness me thinks will out, and if it is too difficult to do for us paddy's we won't bother

    Never mind the "FOREIGNERS"

ask yourself this - "Which is more dangerous a gallon of petrol or an equivalent quantity of powder with sufficient primers ?"

IMO and AFAIK petrol is extremely more dangerous than an unpressurized container with powder..any firemen out there??

This issue is fast becoming a storm in a tea cup... all about nothing TBH..

    ALSO.

It seem ridiculous that Ireland is running this pilot scheme for only one small group. Why have this scheme when there is oceans of available information from other EU countries on how to implement this..

This is a smoke screen that has the advantage of having a faceless committee leader to announce the bad news while not appearing to side with anyone...

Q.How can one group of gunowners be a sufficient proving ground for this scheme-

    A. Its not..

Ah Tac stop letting on your all upset cause I very much doubt you are !!!!!!

I forgot you can't see the emoticons !!!

I was poking fun at welsummer tbh as he/she seemed shocked by your reference to "mainland UK"

It's not a problem for me if it's not for you .............. and I reckon none of the other lads or lady/ies here have a problem with "foreigners" here even if they are English : ) : )

    Now the French ............. that's a whole different ball game ; )

Your knowledge & experience is already proving popular here : )

The post with descriptions of emoticons is
(shocked face) You mean we have "FOREIGNERS" posting here (shocked face) Harmoniums, another poster here is living in US...............imagine it..............shock & horror (face with sticking out tongue & BIG smilie)

Suppose I shouldn't have mentioned the USA as the English fans may be a bit touchy after the result the other night : )
