Mourne Way Marathon

    Congrats to Enduro for winning the Mourne Way Ultra marathon yesterday, an out and back marathon each way :eek:. Haven't seen the official results posted to link..

    Yes well done to Enduro and I think it a disgrace that he was banned. He's one of the few that can walk the talk and I hope he returns.

    All the race results are here. I was one of the walkers. First time there and it was the longest 26 miles I've ever done. All the competitors were very friendly and would respond to encouragement if they had the oxygen to spare. Was a great day out and I'll be back next year, hopefully as a runner. Not the marathon, but maybe a half-marathon. :)

    Thanks all.

    It was an excellent race. The course is fantastic, scenic, and challenging. It requires good strategy and pacing to get around comfortably. The race organisation was very good indeed.

    The Ultra is a great step up from the marathon (and the marathon was probably the hardest marathon I've run). To give you an idea of the equivalent flat distance effort... my time was only 4 minutes less than my 100km PB.
