Im currency using a jg full metal tactical ak and all that holds barrel in position is 2 small screws in the hop-up chamber .So what i was wondering has any1 put a small rubber o-ring over the inner barrel and between the outer barrel to brace it and stop any barrel movement and if you have have you noticed any improvement?

Well some guns come stock with an o-ring around the end of the barrel. Its to take the wobble out of the barrel. I have never test accuracy with/without the o-ring so I dunno if it makes much of a difference (if at all). But when you think about it less wobble should be better.

Would some strips of electrical tape put thinly round the barrel do the job no?

I dunno what guns come with it stock but I know I've seen it on one of my AEG's (possibly my JG MP5 Navy) and I saw it again when I went to change the barrel and hopup on my AGM M4 GBBR.

Well basically what you're looking to do is stabilise the barrel within the outer barrel. You can do it any way you like providing it's a snug fit.

O-rings will work, as will electrical tape - personally I use teflon tape...

Doing everything possible to stabilise the barrel and hop within the gun will give you more consistency between shots...

used both electrical and teflon/plumbers tap, agree with treadhead i've had the best results from teflon tap all your looking to do is pack out the space between outer and inner barrel, electrical tap has very little give and even a single layer can be too much

Hard to say as the first thing I do with a new AEG (or barrel group in the case of my AUGs) is upgrade the hop and fit an inner barrel...

That said, my AUG is beautifully accurate and consistent....
