    Doing a great job.

Much prefer his professionalism over Bill's clown-like-say-something-ridiculous-to-incite-Johnny-and-Eamo approach.

What's your point quarryman? Are you making a point, or are you being pointless, is that the point youre trying to make?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,495 ✭✭✭chalkitdown1

    I like Darragh.

But Bill's better. Bill knows how to get the best out of the panelists.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but am i not allowed to express and opinion on Soccer related topic in a Soccer forum?

What is your point exactly? Other than thread spoiling?

    He's taking the piss baby.

Emm, it's a quote from the Aprés Match team from one of their Bill O'Herlihy skits.

    Touchy.

Rather Bill for the comedy effect.

Darragh is doing a really good job but you can't help but admire Bill for pure entertainment value.

    Him and his tabloids. :)

I think Maloney is doing an excellent job, very accomplished. By the same token Con Murphy is doing a fine job with the highlights show.

Darragh Maloney is doing a great job. He's is a great bloke too, I met him in Tesco once and I just told him myself and the lads think he is a bit of a legend and he came across as a really nice guy.

One of my friends is friends with him. Says he is a lovely fella.

If Manchester United lose, he's the first person to text my friend with a smart arsed comment! :P

I think he's doing a good job. That's Bill replaced. Now all they need is a new Giles and Dunphy

I don't like the sound of his voice.

I know that is very petty, but you'd think it would be important to be a commentator / presenter.

Yeh he allways seems to comment on how terrible Man utd are in the highlights. The Irish Alan Green! Bill isnt bias for starters and gets the panel going brilliantly. Would rather Okay dokey than some biased #### any day of the week!

I was sure Bill was a huge United fan?

The A team is brilliant, but after that RTE struggle imo

    Darragh = Professional

    Bill = Entertaining

A bit of both is just the ticket

Met him in Dublin Airport once too. He was heading over to Porto to cover a United game in the CL. A thoroughly nice bloke, really down to earth and had all the time in the world to stand and talk to an overamped Chelsea fan (who was on his way to an AC/DC concert in London!)

Con is a true professional (always try and catch the shows he is involved in) and also a very nice and down to earth gentleman. Very good poker player too!

It's great that RTE have some excellent panelists there, who are unfortunately still in the shadows of some of the lesser ones. The lesser ones have unfortunately also been there since time began, and are unlikely to relinquish their hold on the throne just yet!

    +1

I really just don't like his voice. I'd take Bill any day of the week, he makes for really entertaining tv and "lively" debate.

On the other side though, I really like Denis Irwin as a pundit.

I think he's doing a great job. Should definitely replace Bill when he retires. I also seen him in Tesco a few times :D

I think he's doing an excellent job. I liked his bit of banter with the lads just after the opening ceremony.

Dunphy: Irelands Got Talent asked me, Darragh

Darragh: What? Not to come on?

    I lol'd at this.

I wanna find this Tesco and have the chat.

I wonder if he actually shops in this Tesco or does he have a little stall where you can just go up and have a chinwag with him. I wonder what Tesco Peter Collins is assigned to.

Tesco? Oh dear boy no. All crap pundits are to be assigned to Super Valu.
