Windows vista constantly is 'Not responding' i find with my laptop, I open 'Firefox' and i'm waiting and not responding, so i moved to ubuntu. Microsoft fecked up Windows Vista and put Windows 7 as a replacement. Vista is a complete waste of money and i'm glad I have ubuntu (free)

Use firefox, opera when using youtube, flash is not the most reliable program, make sure you have the latest version.
YOU can disable aero and see here http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,2110596,00.asp, i always knock off services like bluetooth, remote diagnostic etc that i never use.
or google speed up vista os.

Hmmm if you install unbuntu over the Vista operating system does that mean I will lose everything saved to my Hard Drive?

you install ubuntu it sets up a boot menu ,windows 1, ubuntu,2 , press no to choose .You lose nothing. i like linux mint, can be burned to a cdr, livecd , you get a choice from the cd , run from the cd, or install it to your hardrive.
theres very little chance of getting a virus with linux.
