    Hey everyone,

my friend called over to me today with her 2007 Peugeot 207 making a really loud whirring noise. It was the radiator fan turning non stop while she's driving. From cold in the morning it starts straight away and even after the car being turned off, 15/20mins later it's still turning.

The fluids all seem fine, the radiator itself looks ok, the temperature gauge in the car is perfect.

The only thing I can think of is that she accidentally left the car running for a day last week (i don't know how!) but she forgot the turn off the engine when carrying some stuff into her office. She left it for about 6/7 hours running, could that have done something to it?

    Thanks!

(PS Sorry about the title I meant to say Fan Won't turn Off, can't edit it now!)

She left the engine running and forgot? Women drivers! :p

I imagine that a sensor is cooked.

"Forgot to swtich off the engine, went to work, and let it running the entire day"

    *Grabs popcorn*

OP, the car isn't designed to be left at idle for so long - the cooling system depends on airflow though the radiator over and above that of a fan. She's overheated something, probably a sensor.

On an unrelated note, is she blonde?

I'm shocked that she left the car running all day but more shocked that someone didn't hop in and make off with it!

Forgetting to turn off your car is on a par with forgetting to swallow your breakfast and carrying mashed up cornflakes around in your mouth until lunch.

    Shocking
