I've been looking into getting a laptop, primarily to be used for music production. What I'm looking at at the moment is a Toshiba L650D. The specs are pretty good: AMD Athlon II DC 3200 (which I think is running at 2.1GHz), 4 GB RAM, 500 GB hard drive. The price in my local shop is €599.

It seems like it's a good system. I'm going to probably need specs like that to run the kinda programs I'll be using (Cubase, Reason, MaxMSP), but I just had a few questions I wanted to check out.

Is this a good price for these specs?
    Are toshibas reliable?

I'm looking at this in click in Navan at the moment. I was wondering did you ever get it and how you are getting on with it?

buying a toshiba myself - been researching for past few weeks and they seem to come out very well on reliability (also asked people who have them rather then just the internet) not sure of this model but seems to be a good brand overall.

    * also just looked at a leaflet i got in www.peats.com today and this model is the same price there - maybe haggle a little with the shop? + there is the C650-124 for the same price (slightly smaller hard drive at 320gb and different graphics card but the processor is i3-330m @ 2.13Ghz)

Have reserved one in Navan, going in to pick it up later on - hopefully it will do the job. Anything will be better than what I have here, I'd say. Looking forward to a shiny new computer :)

Well I'm fairly happy with mine- touchpad is a little tempermental at times, but I'm not used to them so it could be down to me.

Hey, any more feedback on this computer?

I thinking of getting this one from my local Click.ie store, but I thought I'd ask here before I actually buy it. Thanks :)
