Well lads basically this time last yr i got my tractor (category W) learner permit! I did not apply for the full license because i knew i wud have to do the theory again to get the car license!

And nw i want to get my car learner permit but i have a few queries i hope ye can help with!

**Right is is it true that because i have held a tractor learner permit wen i get my car learner permit i dont have to wait the full six months b4 i can apply for a driver test?:)**

**Next can i still get my apply for my driver license even if i havent been insured as a learner driver on the car ie. can i use the test centre car to do a coupl a lessons and the driver test?**

**Third the auld pair are a bit reluctant to insure me and i definitly probably wont b insured until the insurance comes around next year but hav ye any idea how much it wud cost to b insured as a named driver on a 1.3l 05 cheverlot kalos?**

AFAIK you will need a b learner permit for at least 6 months B4 you can do the test you can of apply in advance

y you dont need insurance cover to get a license only for driving

just to verify €975 is the full policy for one named driver (18 yo male) and open drive for any license holder between 24 and 70 years ,

as i said it pays to shop around, believe me I know.. my 4 "children" are between 18 and 25 years of age

IMP young drivers are been ripped off big time by the insurance co.s

I have seen a difference of €1400 in quotes for young drivers between companies .

Insane money for insurance. My sister had insurance for a bit with €500 in her own name on her own 2003 1.4 Octavia last year when she was 18. There would be some outcry if women had to pay more....

Daft as it may seem, an artic license doesn't allow you tow a trailer with a car. You have to do a seperate test for a car and trailer because it's a different category.
