    Just wondering does anybody have advice on who the best value caterers in Ireland (particularly for Galway) might be?

    The criteria are:
    We are looking for a group that could cope with almost 650 guests for a 3-course set menu meal;
    We have our own venue that has a fully equipped catering kitchen;
    We hope to find a caterer that can also cater for all allergies, along with halal, kosher and vegetarian options without us having to source a secondary caterer for that;
    We are a volunteer organisation with limited funds (our budget is roughly €20 per person for food) so would be looking for a package that would represent the best value for money, without hugely compromising on quality;
    The timing would be in mid-August, 2011.

    Any help from anybody who has planned a wedding, conference or big event would be greatly appreciated, and if you are a caterer please feel free to PM me!

    I'm sure there would be plenty of caterers who would be more than happy to cater for guests with such allergies at that price considering there are 650 people :D
    I don't know any myself OP but if you asked over in the Galway forum too they might know aswell

    hmm, perhaps I was a little ambiguous but I didn't mean that the entire party had allergies or special requirements, simply that a caterer would be able to handle all types of needs!
    I'll give it a lash in the Galway forum but I'm more interested in casting a nation-wide net to seek out the best value.

    I would suggest drawing up a tender document, and sending it out to a number of larger outerdoor catering companys, like Masterchef (no connections just seeing them at various events) and that will give you a starting point, you can narrow it down to a short list & even interview if you feel the need.
