this will probably get moved to the motoring forum but here goes:

If it was a private sale, the vehicle is "sold as seen" and unless you sold it knowing there was a defect (mechanically usually) then the buyer has no comeback.

Short answer, tell then to get fooked

You do NOT legally have to take car back and return money (because its dirty ?Thats unbelievable!)Your post suggests they are behaving threateningly ,guess you will have to use your common sense /wisdom

    +1

private sale - sold as seen and no comeback at all. Even if the car breaks down on the way home.

God I'm not really sure about this, but this might help.
Taken from Citizens information website : Vehicles are often advertised by private individuals on the internet and in the ‘small ads’ section of newspapers. If you buy a car from a small advertisement or on the internet from a private individual you are generally not buying from a person whose normal business it is to sell cars (although sometimes used car dealers do advertise in this way). Again in this case you have very little legal protection if you find that the car that you have bought is faulty. Your only right to redress is if the car is sold with a defect that would endanger people driving it. It is important that in this situation you protect yourself from unscrupulous people. It may be worthwhile to employ the services of a trusted mechanic who may be able to advise you on the mechanical state of the car.

mechanicaly its perfect condition. They just have problems with that that it needs to be cleaned, which sounds strange to me as yesterday they about five times pointed out that and we gived them a bit lower price because of that.
They keep ringing and screaming.I think i will have guests today

    Thanks for advice :)

Check the news for any reports of robberies/shootings, as they may just have bought it to use as a getaway car and now want their money back as the jobs done.

You don't have to take the car back because it's dirty.

If you did take it back you might find a different engine in it. Happened to Hertz rent-a-car a few times in the past.

Call the Gaurds and say you are being harassed (which you are). If these people make any threats to you, you can have them charged with assault. If they call you again tell them you have their details and will be passing them to the police.

    I agree.
If no mechanical fault, no discrepancies in the paperwork, tax, MOT, etc - they are just being petty and should be told to go stop being stupid.
A judge would laugh them out of court.

I too would report them to the Gardi for harassment reasons - TODAY!!!

Do not give them their money back! Report them to the Gardai, if they are making threats.

record all telephone conversations (inform them that you are doing so) and keep a record of all contact with them (times, dates, etc.) and report everything.
