They are not as well regarded as either the older RP12 or newer RP220. But if it is in good condition the price is right then fire away.

I'd be inclinded to budget for a pickup rebuild if it hasn't been done in a while.

Hello, I'm also looking to buy a welger either a welger rp200 or rp220. This might sound like a very stupid question but can you bale straw with the chopper, or do u have to take it out or turn it off or what's the story?
    Thanks for any info.

Drop the knives in the baler and bale away... We've an rp 220 a great baler once oiled and greased.. only weakness is the tensioner sprocket for the chain on the back door.. be sure to remove the pannel and have a look it would be straight in front of you.. if it is bent or welded walk away.. if it is loose it can cut into the side of the frame of the actual chamber.. on our baler that chain got loose and caused a nice bit of damage
