Claiming Stamps

I am currently on a Community Employment Scheme but my contract ends in two weeks time. Does anyone know if I am entitled to claim stamps while I'm looking for work. Also my Husband starts a full time job next week after being unemployed for two years , will his earnings affect my entitlement to my stamps?

My Husbands job is on a trial basis , can he get JA suspended rather than signing off until after his trial period is over and he is definitely kept in the job. I'm wondering about this because if he signs off and then is not offered a permanent position he will have to go through the whole process of signing back on.

    Thanks In advance
    Karen

I presume by claiming stamps you mean claiming the dole??
if so then yes you can however if your husband is or will be in full time employment you will be means tested on his salary which means you will not receive the full amount (job seeker allowance or job seeker benefit)

if your husband is getting paid for the trial period then he should inform social welfare office and unfortunately if not offered permanent position then yes he will have to sign on again

hopefully by the time your course finishes then you should know about your husbands job then you can get yourself down to social welfare you will be told to provide proof of his wages so you'll probably have to wait until he gets a payslip but get the ball rolling as soon as your course finishes
    and best of luck
