Where Do Ye Go On Nights Out?

I have DCU #1 on my CAO.

I know there are other threads on DCU nightlife in general, but I was just wondering where the majority of DCU students go on nights out?
North Dublin, South Dublin or the City Centre?

I heard most of the good clubs are South, I could be wrong though?

Any big student spots around the place?

Well there is no single location that all DCU students go to in town, so asking where the majority go would take some sort of mega poll to answer. You'll find that people will all have different ideas about what they want to do on their nights out, where you go will depend on the people you're going out with. But yeah there's plenty of that clubbing shíte in town ;)

Ballymun, there's a field full of sheep, and another one full of horses owned by athletes.

NuBar. It's deadly. Go there. Though nights out, just decide what you like, then ask where to go. Like, if you like clubs or bars, cheapness or somewhere that's actually fun to be in.

Yeah, most "decent" clubs are in the city centre, if you aren't into clubs, the nubar is great for socialising, as is the slipper (Matt Weldon's, The pub across the road) which has student nights on tuesdays..
It depends on what you're into really...

I lived literally a minute's walk off campus, so the nubar was great for meeting up with people. But for going out, no matter where we planned to go before hand, I ALWAYS ended up in Fibbers somehow... Not complaining really! 3Euro drinks on a Thursday. :D

Mondays are cheap now too, apparently.

DCU students aren't afraid to wander away from the northside :P
More than likely you'll end up in town, with all the other students.

On Mondays you'll find yourself going to XXI's at the beginning of the year then slowly making your way towards Club M by the end.

Wednesdays, Tripod was the spot in the first 5 or 6 weeks, then everyone discovered Dicey's, DTwo (savage spot on Thursdays as well) and Coppers and realised just how terrible Tripod is.

Thursdays, DTwo was the best place imo.

Of course it depends on who you are. You might rather listen to a couple of bands in Whelans or enjoy the atmosphere in C.U.N.T. I went there a couple of times and it's a nice spot, but not one I'd go to every week. Spy's a very good place on Wednesdays and Thursdays as well.

But yeah, you'll find yourself going into town most nights.

I tend to wile away my evenings in the semester with a pipe, some fine Virginian smoking tobacco, and an aged Cognac.

Coupled with some fine Renaissance literature and a fire, one would like to think I go wild on my free evenings in university.
