    Hi folks,
It's that time of year again when the feet start to itch and the best cure I find is to walk around car dealers forecourts.
    Been thinking about a BMW E60 535d.
Would be looking at 06/07 models.
Is there any issues/recalls/services i'd need to be aware of before buying?
Thanks for any help ye can offer...

I have an 07 one - LCI so a little more power and cosmetic differences from the early 07 models. The one down side is the tax compared to an08 model but if you can live with that then you would be buying a great all round motor.

I normally get the change of car itch myself after a year or two but at the moment I don't think there is anything out there that realistically tempts me. An m5 obviously would be the natural step up but doing 40k kms per year means that would be hard to justify

this should have been put against the 535i for a real fair test but topgear usually dont do that and jeromy still gave it the thumbs up and he hates bmw's lol

main advanteges are 35-40mpg 276bhp(05-07) 286 there after.560nm of torque
0-60 6.4 secs, can be remapped to 350bhp leaving all stock m3's in the dust

although if i were you id wait another year and buy an 08, for a few reasons, the lci has nicer lights(led's) has more power and the automatic gearbox is said to be 40% faster and has a smoother take of as in no jump forward when it kicks down, more economical with the efficient dynamics, many problems where sorted out as with most face-lifts in cars
