vista - wont connect to internet

i cant connect vista to the net in my house but xp works fine.it saying that its some sort of firewall problem.but the laptop in question works fine in another house. all help would be very much appreciated as this is driving me crazy

How are you connecting at home, wirelessly or through a cable. Also, when at home can you run command prompt and then the IPCONFIG /ALL command and post the details here.. You post is very vague, you really need to post more detail if you expect to get the issue resolved.
